How We Compare Against 3M's Security Film In Florida
I wrote the posting below on September 3, 2007!
Plenty of time for 3M to improve their solar security film performance. .right?
Plenty happened in the last two years. . right?
You'd think they'd have passed or developed a combination solar security film that could attain the same safety standards as their clear Ultra 600. .right?
Why we all know that energy bills have gone up. .
You'd think they'd try to keep up with the rest of the industry. .right?
Home safety and security against crime, smash and grab and added protection against hurricane winds are Florida issues. Why would anyone want a clear safety film rather than one that cuts glare, saves money, earns rebates, etc. etc. right??
He can't believe it either!
Amazingly as Armorcoat passed the 4.5 LB Missile Test for their solar security stainless films; 3M's only pass is for a clear 6 ML film the ULTRA 600! That's their best safety film that they should propose.
Too bad that it doesn't reduce the heat gain, or cut any glare. Their clear film won't earn a rebate or a tax credit either!
And rather amazingly they still haven't figured out how to make a six foot wide film or buy one from a window film manufacturer that does know how!
I am completely confident that when you get their 3M proposal they will make 100% sure you know that their solar security films simply can't measure up!!

Is that an important test standard?
Of course it is!
Independent and simulated wind speeds up to 199 MPH. So important that...
Please remember to ask these dealers and agents, blind companies and car tinters, etc. to only install their films that passed the same test our LLumar and Vista films have passed!
We mention this fact because that old rippy rippy tear test of how tear resistant their thin films are is as outdated as yesterday's bell bottoms.
The impact strength of window films for wind storm debris is based on puncture and tensile strength. If a tree limb were to hit the window it is that blunt force that will break the glass and a thicker film is required to pass the critical test requirement. The 2 X 4 that weighs 4.5 Lbs goes through their rippy rippy film like a hot knife through butter.
Our Vista Films are low reflective and we have choices of 20%, 40%, 28%, 38% and 50% plus clear 8 ML versions that can be installed and all are available in 6 foot widths so we never seam windows.
We have no haze, no powder coats, only a clear adhesive that is spectacularly clear and distortion free.
