Passion- The Difference Between Success Or Failure In Window Film
A former 3M dealer and a good friend reminded me the other day that I had "written the book" on selling 3M window film.
When you come to the fork in the road- -Take it!
More precisely; I sent one chapter at a time by e-mail how to sell 3M window film. I stopped after 22 or so chapters when I ran out of "witty" things to teach.
I still have them if anyone wants a "Collector's Item?" Perhaps I'll post them on E-Bay?
The Marketing departments are supposed to handle these types of programs but somewhere along the line marketing became printing brochures and an occasional press release. Some people (oops, where did he go??) said I was cluttering the dealers e-mail box!
The proper selling attire is certainly a plus?
The heart of any selling course should begin with PASSION!
People feel your passion when you make your sales presentation. They can sense insecurity or a defeatist attitude.
The driving force is this PASSION.
No more teaching- -just doing!
By the way. . I haven't looked back at these chapters in over three years, but I do recall that some were quite amusing.
I used to pick on 3M's competition and ironically now:
I am their COMPETITION!
What a wonderful world this is!
Here are some key points:
1. Know your stuff- inside and out!
2. Always be candid and ethical.
3. Solve the customers problems and really listen to what they are telling you!
4. Have a sense of humor; after all; it's only window film!
5. Mistakes can happen. Own up to them and fix them!

Having a big name brand was an advantage because so many people will trust that you offer the best solution without gathering additional facts. It's the logo, the packaging or rather the re-packaging that mattered.
