Just a fast update from what I wrote way back in May.
For my window film associates this question: Was I right?
Now as we close out August are your prepared for the final 4 months of 2008??

The season is ratcheted up to full speed and your telephones should be ringing right "off the hook!"
Have you met your corporate sales rep yet??

His goal is to sell you more film. That's also his entire plan.
If you won't buy more (that book tells him just how much you are down!), he'll find someone else to carry your preferred brand of film. Oh. .but perhaps he's already done that, hasn't he?
If you are "just getting by" or struggling to succeed in SPITE of them, rather than BECAUSE of them, call me!
We can assist you. You really do not have a moment to spare!

Thanks for the super response!
We share your frustration with your current situation and we will be scheduling direct meetings with you and your sales teams in the coming weeks!
Take heart, pressure tactics by your manufacturer at the end of the year, combined with threats and coercion to get you to buy film you don't need simply demonstrate their ineeffectiveness.
Ask yourself these questions:
1. Who is the customer and are you being treated like their customer or rather as a low level employee?
2. Are they treating you fairly and have you received leads as well as support from your current supplier?
3. Can you speak your mind openly, without fear of reprisal?
4. What type of training and support are you receiving to assist your sales and marketing effort?

Now is the time to make your 2008 business plan for success.
I know how much support you have received from your distributor or window film manufacturer. Wonderful suggestions from these propeller heads like:
"You need to buy more film"
"That other dealer isn't really that close from your shop!"
You are not loyal enough!
"It's hot outside; really- -who cares about hurricanes???"
"You need to advertise more!"
"Why don't you concentrate on a big building?"

"If you don't buy more of our stuff we will cancel you!"
Yeah- -really helpful tips!
