My Personal Window Film Hall Of Fame

Old timers who know me also know that I have been an advocate for a Window Film Hall of Fame since waaaaay back!

After all, we are part of an industry that has over 50 years of history. So many dedicated men and women who have devoted their business life to this Industry; yet till this day, no place of honor!

I'll admit that the following list is purely subjective; SO BE IT!

But, in my opinion these folks did it and most are still doing it!

They have my admiration whether they were for me or against whatever product we were promoting in this tinting business!!

Here than my personal  Window Film Hall of Fame!

1. Virginia (Ginny) Kubler - VISTA, CP Films, LLumar.  A passion for this business and a keen insight into the world of window film.  She is an Industry giant and interior designers know about the inherent benefits of window film as a direct result of her steadfast championing of these elegant solutions. As an adversary while I was at 3M, and now and always as the heart of Vista Films she gets my Number 1 inductee position!

2. Irwin Green at Columbia Filters- Mr. Green was 3M's New York City original dealer.  I can recall one day back in 1975 when he and some St. Paul types visited our office in NYC to tell us about doing the Pan Am Building!  Doing anything very well for 5 decades!! He's certainly a shoe-in!

3. Gerry Berger- 3M This gent was the true inventor and founder of 3M Scotchtint. Sadly he passed away in November, 2005.

4. Joe O'Brien- The Founder of Sun Gard. This innovator took window film to a new level of performance in the mid 1970's and into the 1980's at a time when the business was at a down turn.

5. Hugh Bernardi- One of the first 3M window film dealers and still doing his thing as a Distributor for window films as well as Paint Protection in Denver.

6. Bob Connelly- Madico- This is a gent that is also still doing his thing at Madico, one of the world's best window film companies.  I have never met this gentleman; but the passion of Madico has been in the loyalty and consistency of their business approach. He has to be in any window film Hall of Fame!

7. The Murphy's of San Francisco- Paul Murphy at Special Products and his dad before him.  Their business professionalism for nearly 40 years is a guiding light for window film best business practices.

8. Nick Routh- Solar Gard. He gets my vote. One of the truly great people in this business and a man who sees the bigger picture.

9. Jim Hondroulis EPD- Jim Hondroulis is a 3M Distributor in the mid Atlantic states. He has been a dealer and a distributor and an industry giant since the 1970's.

10. Jay Larkin- Madico - Now Jay might be surprised at my including him in my Hall of Fame- -but he raised the bar for security window film and his passion for success single handedly is responsible for educating governments around the world about the benefits of fragment retention films.  I thought I had drive and passion but this guy made me look like a piker! Larkin gets my vote!

Now for all of you who are not on my initial Hall list. . be patient. After all when Cooperstown started they only had . . was it 5 inductees?
