OK- -I simply can't shut up about window tinting. . .right?


400 posts since I opened my own window film business.  A celebration is scheduled whenever I take a day off!

I'll confess that I love this window film business!  I haven't had this much fun since I was a little kid.

Imagine being confined in a corporate box for 33 years?

I recognized early on in window film that the rubber meets the road in the field.  The REALITY is the individual dealer and their ability to promote and install their window tinting solution. (Whatever the Brand!)

It's that business person that makes the sales call, invests in their marketing plan and has the accountability to their employees to conduct business profitably, and ethically that equates to success!

I used to be critiqued for sending too many e-mails to my dealers. I would send them links to architects and engineers. I'd highlight the best practices of the most successful dealers. After all, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery!  One dealer up North called me the National E-Mail Manager. One guy said I was wasting my dealers time since they should all be out selling. .

I made no bobble headed excuses for the economy, the weather, or bragging about what some other unrelated big division did or what they sold in China last year.

Who cares?!

Certainly not a guy who has to pay that lease, the insurance and fight the fight against a herd of no name tint shops or guys who work out of their truck!


           Teamwork!

What I learned over the years is that the existing corporate mind-set needed to be turned completely up-side-down!

As far as a manufacturer is concerned. .  The customer is the
DEALER!!

I couldn't care less about excuses like the weather. .the lack of hurricanes in Florida, the real estate foreclosure rate, or the rain in Spain or Timbuktu, TX!!

Advanced Film Solutions has grown into one of the largest window film dealers in the USA based on the sum total of the experience I learned from my dealers throughout my 3M career. 

I also learned a great deal from the competition! These Vista Dealers that I tried to recruit away would stand firm and explain to me why they were loyal to VISTA.  Now as a Vista dealer I have a better appreciation for just why they were so supportive of this manufacturer.

Solving consumer's problems with the most technologically advanced and cost effective products is our ultimate goal at Advanced Film Solutions.
