NFRC Certified Vista Window Film-Tampa, Orlando
As we head to the final months of the worst economy in decades it's important to remind consumers that solid performance backed by independent lab testing supports your investment in Vista Films.
Are there well known window film sellers who continue to pretend that their films are unique by working better at angles? How about gimmicky BTU and IR Lamp demos that are as convincing as David Copperfield sawing a woman in half?
Advanced Film Solutions prefers quantified performance where it counts. . .on your glass!
For ease of reference; here is the website that lists the various Vista Films that have earned certification.
"First Window Films Earn NFRC Certification
After being accepted into NFRC’s certification program just last year, the first window films have been certified by CP Films, Inc.
Following completion of the back-end work and finalizing of the NFRC 304 standard in 2007, window film manufacturers are now able to certify their products’ energy performance according to the NFRC certification process.
“We’re incredibly pleased that manufactures can now certify window film products under NFRC’s certification program,” said NFRC Executive Director Jim Benney. “Hopefully there will be a domino effect from this point on with other companies seeking to do the same.”

Consumer Perks
With rising energy costs and the gloomy outlook for the housing market, window film products are becoming increasingly more valuable to homeowners and facility managers. In part because window films are a retrofit product, meaning they are applied to existing structures rather than used in new construction.
Window film products can substantially add to a window’s performance, preventing solar heat gain from penetrating your home in the summer and protecting your window in the winter from letting out the heat in your home. And now that they can be certified by NFRC’s third-party certification process, consumers can compare products in an “apples-to-apples” manner
“In this frenzied era of consumers and building management personnel looking for feasible and cost-effective ways to improve the energy efficiency of their existing homes and commercial buildings, the NFRC label gives added assurance that the fenestration products being considered are truly effective and worthy of consideration as one of several options in the search for the best solution,” said Darrell Smith, executive director of the International Window Film Association.
As with any other product eligible for NFRC certification, there are many benefits for manufacturers. Not only does film certification provide increased credibility for the manufacturer, it also allows them to demonstrate to potential customers that they went the extra step to verify the energy performance of their products. Additionally, certification puts all manufacturers on a level playing field – however large or small the field may be."
