Tampa Bay Home Show-Time To Rumble & Compare

Said it before and will repeat it again, we love home shows!

That's why we'll be at the Tropicana Dome this weekend facing off against our local competition!

Why?

There is no better way to dispel the myths that our competitors continue to make up on the fly.

Sure this is a broad statement, but show experience has convinced us that separating truth from nonsense is a key objective for Advanced Film Solutions.

Let's review a scorecard of fantasy.

These are the most frequently heard comments and questions that we are typically asked when consumers visit our booth after seeing the competition:

Selling Angles?
  1. They say their 3M prestige film cuts 97% of the heat yet it is clear. Can that be true?

    Answer:

Of course not. There is no clear film that can block 97% of the heat let alone 97% of the infrared wavelength. This is an unsupported number and a major reason why the NFRC ratings are so important.

    Advanced Film Solutions
is pleased to demonstrate our Lumenesse Films that are clear and factor out 55% of the Total Solar Energy.  These Lumenesse Films have met the 4.5 Missile Test Level of performance.

  2. Windex destroys all films other than 3M:

    Answer:

Of course not! Their film has absolutely
no advantage in hard coat compared to their competition. This is utter fabrication.

  3. Their prestige film works better when it is hotter outside:

Answer: Actually this is the silliest statement since glass by itself works better when the Sun is at an angle. We have beaten this horse to death, but since they keep bringing it up, we will keep beating it!

VISTA Lumenesse and Huper Optik Ceramic Films are optically clear and meet all deed restrictions.  The Ceramic 30 and VISTA Terre 31 also qualify for Progress Energy and TECO Energy Rebates where their Prestige 40 DOES NOT!

  4. Windstorm and cycling Missile Tests are suddenly unimportant, or they simply have not yet gotten around to taking these tests.  Better yet that they somehow test to a higher level of performance. (I guess their angle nonsense worked so well that they branched out?)

They have curiously only passed this impact test with their Ultra 600.  This is a clear non solar film that has an unusual amount of haze.  Make 100% certain that if they propose a solution they have actually passed opn the exact film they are proposing!

These Missile Tests are critically important because all window film manufacturers play on the same level field. Each company has the ability to test their film capability at an independent laboratory. I can assure you they have taken that test on more than one occasion. That they can not produce a "PASS" tells you all you need to know! This puncture strength advantage.

Advanced Film Solutions has more films that pass this Medium Missile Test (4.5 Lb and cycling) than any other window film installation company.  How about LLumar, Armorcoat, Madico, Lumenesse, SunTek, Vista Films?? All shades from clear and a 70% nanotechnology film to the darker rebate qualifying versions!

Let us show you why consumers choose Advanced Film Solutions to reduce their electric bill and protect their homes and families!

    Good points Mike!

If I may add to point #1... When 3M Prestige advertises 97% IR rejection, they are only taking that measurement in the range of 900-1000nm which is only 6% of the IR spectrum! Translation... they are only measuring a sliver of the IR spectrum, the sliver that BTU meters work best at measuring, thus the footnote at the bottom of their specifications saying that the measurement is between 900-1000nm. So in reality their films have a 78% IR rejection over the entire 780-2500nm spread. So why don't they just post the truth instead of playing smoke and mirrors with the consumer.

The simple answer is that the actual heat reduction of the Prestige Film is fair to middle in reality. This is more than a marketing issue it boils down to accuracy in their publications and brochures. Many of the 3M dealers actually believe that the film rejects 97% of the infrared; some will state that their film blocks 97% of the heat!!

Imagine the disbelief of their naive consumer who might believe this nonsense?

You really wouldn't expect to  be mislead by a company with their solid reputation in so many other product areas. This is a real problem in the industry, as you know.
