Window Film Lessons

I wrote this back in 2008 and it still sums up my core philosophy.

My recent health issues have actually improved my sense of humor since I can see the foolishness in carry grudges or obsessing on events that we simply can not control.

I didn't set out to become a Window Film Guru.

Quite frankly, I became involved in this business after having been a sales rep in a number of 3M product lines including microfilm, ID cards, shoplifting systems, Light Pipes, etc., etc.

There is a deceptive simplicity to the window film business "sticky side down?" and it was the independent dealers who were the face of 3M to the consumer.

My goal then was to help grow the sales channel rather than getting in the way of dealers.

Along the way, I listened to my dealers and the competitive dealers around the USA.  I tried to take seriously the "Best Practices" of successful men and women and share their strategies with their peers.

There certainly were times that I swallowed that Blue Pill; suspending logic and drumming the beat of my brand despite some obvious short-comings (to me).

Still; I studied all of the competition's solutions. I knew which film solutions would actually provide the best alternatives for consumers.

I offer no apologies for my years of myopically promoting the brand I was employed by, what else would any 3M guy do?

Many of my window film friends (yes, I do have them!!) say that our success at Advanced Film Solutions is based upon my selling ability.  That old "he can sell ice to an Eskimo" routine.

Not really.

Our success is based upon the fact that in every single product solution category, we offer documented credentials and the "Best of Breed" for our consumer's choice.

Advanced Film Solutions is a mirror to my 34 years of experience and listening to the "voice of the consumer" rather than telling anyone, anything.

This Blog is my daily journal in building my own window film business from scratch.

It's as objective  as I can be.

For the most part, I try not to censor myself having experienced how "others" would try to control my opinions or communications.

Those days are over!

Still, I keep it clean, try to avoid sensitive areas like politics or religion.  My Blog is G-Rated, for sure!

My philosophy is to be loyal to my clients rather than to a brand of film. The brands we represent have earned my business because they deliver that "Better Mouse Trap."

When I or my sales people walk into a home, we know that we offer the best solutions at the best price.

There is no MUMBO-JUMBO selling pitch needed.

Just facts.

And. .

I love talking about window film with anyone who has a question or is confused by the contradictions they hear from dealers who want to sell rather than solve.

Call me. .let's chat!

      Thank you.

Sometimes we all need to take a step back and discover that which is most important.
