Low Cost Window Tinting Tampa- Consumer Beware

It's interesting when you view the dynamics of the window tinting business from a consumer versus a dealer perspective. Let me expand somewhat on what I mean!  There are Flea Market Type window tint shops (and moonlighters that work from their truck) that carry low quality, low cost tints that have a questionable pedigree (to say the least!).

Obviously, these cheap films are available to Advanced Film Solutions

We represent the finest quality and trusted innovative window films in this industry.

VISTA Madico, Armorgard and Huper Optik for homes and commercial clients and FormulaOne High Performance Films for our automotive clients!  We wouldn't put cheap film on a home or your car unless a customer insisted that it didn't matter to them!

Hey. .have I got a deal for you!

The low ball tinters typically show specification sheets that give the illusion that their films are equal to the NFRC Certified VISTA or Huper Optik Films. After all, one film that cuts 70% of the visible light transmission must be the same as another film.  WELL. .

The low cost films are made with lower quality polyesters and adhesives.  The scratch coating is inferior and the useful life of the product is very limited. Still. .there are many consumers who might be mislead into thinking that they are getting a better deal.

SO BE IT.

There is a rationale that every seller is trying to "get one over on you!" Realistically as a business person, we accept the skepticism that many consumers feel toward any product choice!  I once had an old boss at 3M who once said "If they want to buy garbage, I'd rather that they buy my garbage!"  SO. .

If you have a price quotation for some window film that no one has ever heard about (I HAVE, OF COURSE), give Advanced Film Solutions a call.

We can buy the Juanita Film, the SunDrek, The Soldagain Films, The Kolonic Empire Film or Timbuk2Tinting ... whatever!  We can offer
far better quality films, but if you'd prefer to have one of these cheap films installed; just let me know?

I assume that you also drive a cheap car, have plastic furniture, and buy clothes at the local consignment shop.    That's fine!! This junk can match perfectly!

But - - Give us the right of first refusal..

But always remember
Caveat Emptor!

You are right about this issue, Mike. Between the known brands that are promoted with a smoke and mirrors pitch and the no name repackaged crap films being promoted as "just as good", it truly is BUYER BEWARE! We can feel good that a few? mfrs. are looking at the big picture and are more discriminating in terms of who they allow to offer their products.

To me it's similar to buying a pair of sunglasses. The Maui Jim's and the Oakley's are higher quality compared to the plastic glasses you find at a Walgreen's rack. BUT. .

Given the margins and folks believing everyone is inflating their pricing it's my belief that if someone really doesn't care and simply wants a cheap tint; why let the joe shmoe tint shop win?

      Choice is the American way?

On the point about numerous dealers all with the same film brand and no requirements to become their dealers, that is a huge part of the problem.  Manufacturers can hide behind the anti-trust and Clayton Acts, saying that it's good for consumers; but minimum standards are certainly part of the equation, or should be.

"You can't win them all" they say. .but why not?

The reality is in the field.
