Just a quick update:

Little by little the "old man" is getting back into the center of events at Advanced Film Solutions.

I appreciate all of the get well wishes and suggestions.

The week before Hurricane Season here in Tampa and our phones are ringing off the hook!

Our drive and passion for solving our customer's problems are never more focused than now.

We installed on average three to four homes every single day of this week!

At first I shook off the pain as a muscle ache, since I am not getting any younger!!

But. .eventually I headed to the Urgent Care Center (after all we did their building!)

I'll be fine after some rest.

REST????

The momentum of what we have accomplished continues, but thanks to my son Adam, we have not missed a beat; and the TEAM at Advanced Film Solutions has stepped up their game these last few days beyond my expectations.

The lessons learned?

  1. Build your team and let them make mistakes and develop their skills.
  2. Despite my lack of balance in life, the Lord has a way of slapping you silly to teach you a lesson! In other words, "God laughs while you are busy making plans."
  3. You don't need to be a window film guru with three decades of experience to win against inferior competitive choices.
  4. It's more satisfying when my sales team wins the project than winning the day myself (did I really write that?)
  5. Advanced Film Solutions is a real company, not simply one ex 3M guy on a mission!
  6. The next time I have to take off several days it will be to have a vacation rather than recover!!
  7. Chicken Pox sucks!
  8. My family is my foundation, and they have learned a thing or two from the OLD MAN!!
  9. There is nothing worth watching on TV during the daytime!!
  10. I really need to rip off that 3M film on my home windows, that stuff is hazy like you wouldn't believe and I know someone in this business who can give me a good deal!!

    Hi Mike,
look after yourself, Chickenpox in adulthood is not good. Could affect your ability to bear children. Lucky you're a guy!
Just imagine what would happen, if you were a one-man-band. No business, no income and no happy customers.
