My Dad was so very quiet.

When I was a kid he'd watch TV silently. Never said much at dinner and seemed to go to bed earlier than my sister and I.

He loved Ed Sullivan and for some unexplained reason Gunsmoke.



I used to think he had a crush on Miss Kitty!

My dad was young for a dad. He was only 20 years older than me , stronger and taller and he was handsome a real good looking guy.

When I look at the old black and white pictures with the scalloped edges and dates printed on the reverse side, the man that smiles at the camera is a kid in my eyes today.

I miss him.

I have more than made up for his silence and stillness. Maybe that's why I have been such a Type A personality all of my life?

He loved Frank Sinatra and every time I hear Ol' Blue Eyes; I think of him!
