We found this interesting blog by the "Weather Guys."

"LLumar Safety & Security sells the product, championing its ability to withstand violent conditions. In their testing video, they launch a 2x4 at 27 miles per hour from an air cannon at a film-treated window.

In a separate trial 10 two-gram steel balls were fired at 90 miles per hour at a treated window. The windows remained intact in both trials.

LLumar's website cites flying glass as the cause of most damage and injury during hurricanes. It says that installation of their window film makes windows resistant to shattering and tough against strong winds, potentially reducing the chance of harm to you or your family.

The benefits of LLumar's window film does not stop once hurricane season is over. LLumar's Magnum window film can block 79 percent of incoming solar energy, keeping a building's interior cool and reducing the amount of air conditioning needed to keep your home at a comfortable temperature.

With the variety of colors and textures LLumar offers of their film, you could have never guessed that hurricane safety could have looked this good.
