The Window Tinting Buzz In Tampa
I wrote the posting below 14 months ago. The recession has definitely hurt the industry as a whole. Corporate film sales from most manufacturer's are down and many independent dealers have closed their doors.
We confirmed that one formerly successful 3M dealer went belly up in the last few days down in Boca Raton. I hope they keep their website going at least for awhile since they still have my old prestige presentation online.
Of course back in those days I hardly knew better!

Now many of you folks probably won't believe me when I tell you about calls I receive from 3M dealers asking for assistance in growing their sales.
On the one hand I am flattered that these folks appreciate my 3M knowledge, yet on the other hand, given the fact that I am competing with 3M right here in Tampa. . well obviously you can cut the irony with a knife.
My perspective is obviously skewed. The reason we built Advanced Film Solutions with VISTA, Huper Optik and FormulaOne Films was to meet this competition head-on with verifiable and documented superior solutions.
Clearly a VISTA or Huper Optik dealer in Ishcabibble, TX should be able to compete effectively against a competitive dealer that can not offer the depth in variety and function of these films against all competition. Check out my friends Huper Optik Blog in New Zealand!
I know, I know. .it's the brand name again, the logo, the reputation on unrelated products.
I have assisted many of them in their website development. Clearly this was a weakness not only for 3M dealers but for window film dealers in general.

I'd like to believe that my Inner Circle Blog has had a positive effect in reducing their claims about working better at an angle or how Windex doesn't do any more damage to my film versus theirs.
I assume that my needling in these postings about the NFRC and their failure to pass the ASTM Missile Test might spur them into prodding their friends in the North to catch up with the industry!
When window film dealers compete the winner who actually advertise once in a while, or our favorite competitor is the consumer!

The bottom line?
If you need help, I will help you, up to a point.
Here in Tampa Bay, we love to compete against 3M
We take on the small mom and pop guys working out of their trucks, as well as the big boys
