Window Tinting Business 2008
There is really no other company that practices what we preach in real time against real competitors!
While our interests are varied, our true obsession is the Sunshine State- Florida!
So; putting on my consultant hat, what is the State of Business as we end Q2-2008?
Dealers are facing the gloomy economy. The appetite for energy savings window films might be greater but the consumer's reluctance to spend money dampens this enthusiasm.
The 2008 hurricane season has been QUIET.
The major manufacturers of window film are paralyzed by their own incompetence, inactivity, fear of failure and uninspired and non talented distribution.
Independent dealers across the state are simply shutting down operations or have drastically reduced their staff and reluctance to spend capital on marketing.
Dealers who were once loyal to a specific brand are seriously considering switching toward brands that protect the dealer's marketing area. The era of a window film manufacturer, or their hired hand distributor of the year, leveraging a brand over their dealer's head has become quaint!

On the corporate side there have been (and there will continue to be) management and personnel changes (heads did roll!)
This is a case of cause and effect.
The more distributors and manufacturers retool their channel, the more their channel responds negatively.
Forward thinking organizations will deal with the current situation and maintain a long term strategy (for better or worse) while the reactive types who fear for their very existence, will initiate bone-headed moves that will serve to erode their position.
Given the lack of integrity in their decision making processes, we believe that our associates in window film will more than likely face that desperate reality.

Certainly there is another equally mind-numbing scenario.
Many will choose resignation and simply throw up their hands in defeat.
They will explain their losses as economy driven and peevishly state that "there was nothing they could do about it!" They will send out double-speak memos with price increases couched as a natural evolution of doing business. Imagine for a moment the thought processes of the folks who wrote that dribble?
Their reps and agents will say they are "doing the best they can" and act sympathetic to their dealers (while looking for new dealers to add in markets throughout the state!)
Here's my position!
There is tremendous opportunity right now in this business.
The distributors and manufacturer's don't have a clue!
What you do now as a dealer will separate you from the also-ran's and losers!
The VISION for success is in your hands and with a bit of refinement we can double your sales and profitability!
