How Huper Optik Ceramic Window Film Won The Battle In Florida?
The battle for consumer and commercial customer's began between the Ceramic Technology of Huper Optik against the multi-layered optical film from 3M (Prestige.)
Huper Optik had the head start while 3M entered the fray in 2005. (I was there!)

The non reflective window films differ from the classic versions of sputtered metal films in several respects. It's within these differences that consumers can achieve the unique features of these window films.
These films are not shiny or reflective which suits deed restricted communities and the aesthetic requirements of many homeowners and businesses.

Metal films do offer privacy and are highly effective in heat rejection, but they can certainly alter the "look" of your glass.
Since the heat is not being reflected, the mechanism for accomplishing the heat reducing objectives can be found in the ability of these films to reject infrared (invisible) heat. My associate VClimber has covered this topic extensively in his windowfilmonline blog.

- The Huper Optik 30 ceramic film qualifies for window film rebates being offered by TECO and Progress Energy. Prestige films do not qualify.
- The Huper Optik optical clarity as compared to prestige is a sure winner. Side by side comparisons are not even close.
- The Huper Optik film does not alter the hue of the light streaming through the glass. Prestige has a distinct blue-ish shift (perhaps that Blue Butterfly motivated them a tad too much?)

- The Huper Optik hard coat is superior when compared to prestige. The color of the film is consistent and can not be easily scratched off.

I have huper optik ceramic 30 on my home. It doesn't qualify for TECO rebate. The shading coefficient must, at least, fall between .40-.45 to satisfy TECO. Ceramic 30 falls at .47. The lower the number, the better. Just for those who are interested in the truth.

The shading coefficient of ceramic 30 is .43 and does certainly qualify.
