Bruce Kennedy, who won a heated three-candidate race, is the new mayor of Sea Cliff.
"I hope to make the village work in a more efficient, more resident-friendly way," said Kennedy, 44, who owns window dressing businesses.
Kennedy, chairman of the village's planning board, defeated deputy mayor Bob Haim and political newcomer Joe Krupinski in the village's first contested race for that seat in three elections.
To cut back on spending, Kennedy said he would limit the use of consultants and outside vendors and do more of the village's work in-house.
