Catching The Florida Ripper-No Window Film Mystery

3M competition loves to show their rip test against our thicker 8 ML safety and security solar combination window films. Their premise is simple; thicker films may seem stronger, but how do you explain the fact that they tear easier than the 3M, 4 or 5 ML films?

The better question is for 3M's dealers to explain why this film doesn't meet the 4.5 LB ASTM Test standard (Impact level B with attachment system)??

This Test: LLumar Test
This Test: Vista Pass

As the former 3M Window Film National Sales Manager; perhaps I might remind them to rip this?
  • Their solar security iterations (S20, S35, S25NV, S50 and P50 and P70 Ultra) do not pass this impact and cycling test. (Ask the ripper!)
  • Their clear 4 ML SCLARL400 does not pass this impact test standard. (Ask the ripper!)
  • Only their clear 6 ML Ultra 600 passes the test. That's an apple to apple comparison.
  • Check the haze; particularly on the glass as a mock-up. You'll see what I mean.
It's thickness and puncture strength combined with the performance of the adhesives being used that allowed VISTA,and LLumar to pass this level of performance.

You'd have thought that after all these years they might have figured out how to get a security solar combination film to pass the test? Hmmmm.

Advanced Film Solutions installs solar security window films that beat the "rippers" throughout Florida.

Thicker is Better; just ask 3M's dealer for their missile test and cycling pass on their solar security combination films.

Thicker = Better

That's why their THICKER 6 ML clear security film passes while their 4, 5 ML films do not.

We love to compete against the "rippers."
