Catching The Florida Ripper-No Window Film Mystery
3M competition loves to show their rip test against our thicker 8 ML safety and security solar combination window films. Their premise is simple; thicker films may seem stronger, but how do you explain the fact that they tear easier than the 3M, 4 or 5 ML films?
The better question is for 3M's dealers to explain why this film doesn't meet the 4.5 LB ASTM Test standard (Impact level B with attachment system)??
As the former 3M Window Film National Sales Manager; perhaps I might remind them to rip this?
You'd have thought that after all these years they might have figured out how to get a security solar combination film to pass the test? Hmmmm.
Advanced Film Solutions installs solar security window films that beat the "rippers" throughout Florida.
Thicker is Better; just ask 3M's dealer for their missile test and cycling pass on their solar security combination films.
That's why their THICKER 6 ML clear security film passes while their 4, 5 ML films do not.

- Their solar security iterations (S20, S35, S25NV, S50 and P50 and P70 Ultra) do not pass this impact and cycling test. (Ask the ripper!)
- Their clear 4 ML SCLARL400 does not pass this impact test standard. (Ask the ripper!)
- Only their clear 6 ML Ultra 600 passes the test. That's an apple to apple comparison.
- Check the haze; particularly on the glass as a mock-up. You'll see what I mean.
