Nature Or Nurture Window Film Results

This is the type of economic mess that small business owners never thought would be a reality.  No need to rehash the current situation or the seriousness for all of us.

The question to be asked is: "How do we achieve the very best results given these unusual times?"

Your 2009 Marketing Plan?

My focus, as always, is on the entire window film business which includes the manufacturers, wholesalers and independent dealerships here in the USA.

Once again by way of introduction I am not your typical window tinter.

My background was developed as a corporate guy (although I never quite lost my independent streak!) at 3M.  I would recruit dealers or send weekly newsletters and memos trying to grow our business by sharing what we'd fondly call "Best Practices."  Some of my former dealers and current as always friends still have these old memo's.  (So do I-since I never throw out anything. As an aside if anyone wants pictures from the 3M dealer meeting in Cancun in 1999 0r 2000; let me know?)

33 Years with Uncle M and now an independent VISTA, Huper Optik, Geoshield, Madico and Solar Gard Dealer who also has used SunTek, Sungard Solamatrix and Hanita and Global Films.
No, There are no magic answers in 2009; but there are methods to improve your top and bottom line!

There is no magic pill you can take to grow your business or your channel's sales.  The old cliche BS about positive thinking or visualizing success typically works out well for those who make more sales calls each day!

You do hear stories of course about that isolated successful dealer who closed that Gi-Normous building.  Let's take those wonderful but isolated successes out of the mix along with those dealers that have closed their doors in the last 12 months.

Let's say we are cruising somewhere in the middle?

Bekaert has their Panorama meeting coming up shortly and I understand that my friends (3M dealers) will be in Vegas shortly.  If I were still the 3M Window Film National Sales Manager what would I be telling the "troops?"
My Leprechaun friend wants you to call on the corner office, work smarter, network better, invest in marketing despite the downward trends and generally buy more of their stuff as opposed to someone elses!

More to come. .
