Kennedy remarked in his first speech as mayor,
"The age of apprehension has run a long enough reign. People asked for change...and for their voices to be heard...I think their voices were heard. I ask you to envision a Sea Cliff that is better...the people of Sea Cliff have entrusted me to guide us through the difficult times we face."
