Window Film And Hurricane Protection

Seems the state of Florida is concerned with the potentially misleading statements being made on behalf of window film dealers as a method of hurricane protection.

The industry association (IWFA) has recently met with state officials to create a path toward meeting the guidelines of the state.

Of course it's the nebulous state building officials prior communications that are part and parcel of the current problem. This is an insurance issue and also an economic issue that faces Florida consumers.  The state of Florida certainly encourages hurricane mitigation and safety. The specific level of protection has evolved over the years. After all this is the same state that had a Dade County corrupt compliance office. . didn't it?

But why focus on the facts?

Clearly hurricanes can cause enormous damage.

Shutters and glass systems that meet the 9 Lb level of performance are superior than those films that have been tested to the 4.5 Lb level.

There is really no reason to hype the window film performance or to make it seem that window films are equal in safety to these expensive systems.

We at Advanced Film Solutions have always been clear on that subject.  If you can afford shutters than go out and buy them.

The state of Florida might wish to provide some idea on the type of shutters you should consider.

I believe their subsidized programs that encouraged shutter purchases has ended; but I might be wrong?

On the other hand. .

If you need energy savings since this same state of Florida is only too willing to OK the ridiculous rate hikes by our local power companies every year!!

Thank you Florida!

If you need protection against crime and smash and grab.

We know just how good Florida has been in controlling crime; don't we?

And how about those insurance rates?

Great job Florida for chasing insurance companies out of the state!

Window Film reduces that electric bill and cuts 99.9% of the harmful UV.
