Driving Window Film Business During The Great Recession Of 2009-2010
We were kidding around yesterday when we likened the window film manufacturers to that little kid hiding in the attic (supposedly!)
While larger manufacturers in other industries continue pumping money into marketing and advertising the collective window film manufacturing world is doing little more than pay per click on Google and Yahoo.
Pay Per Click up the wazoo! Which is evidently where many of their heads are right about now.
What really gets me is that these same manufacturers have the audacity to spew worthless advice to their dealers.
Listen. . How about some real advertising??
Hmmmmm?
Until then:
Make the film as well as you can.
Get the credentials you require like NFRC ratings and missile testing and cycling.
Make certain you have enough inventory and occasionally throw me a lead.
Stop the following:

- Pretending you have a clue how a dealer makes a profit.
- Adding more loser dealers around your current dealers geographic area.
- Showing favorites with your ass kissing buddy dealers who you party with.
- Writing tech reports instead of coming right out and pointing out industry member lies or exaggerated statements.
- Talking about the future of window film. Gents if you folks had a clue you wouldn't be in the mess you are in.
- Selling directly against your own channel. I know - -I know the rationale. If you don't like your dealers get rid of them
- Setting up dealers without any credentials, business acumen, insurance, or any standards.
- Signing up dealers who have criminal records (or at the very least have a 5 year moratorium for guys who were just arrested?)
- For the re-boxers only: Stop pretending that suddenly the film gained some additional features when it jumped out of one box into yours!
