Southern Beauty Window Tinting

Once Upon A Time . . I was the 3M National Sales Manager of Window Film, & my job was to grow business, or else.

There was a large building in a large city in the South East and the local
3M dealer was beaten badly by the Vista Dealer who walked away with the entire project.

I had to find out who that dealer was and how he'd accomplished this?

PLUS my goal was to try to steal all Vista guys away and make them 3M. (my Vista friends still give me crap about that; but heck that's a different story for a different time!)

I quickly arranged the meeting.

A young guy greeted me and asked me to hang around "a spell" because the owner was running late.

An older gent arrived several minutes later.

Now this guy looked like Slim Pickins
(he had a wad of chew in his cheek and cowboy boots to match)

He talked about car tinting and Nascar racing for nearly an hour.

I nodded along and finally got around to asking him how he'd closed that commercial project?

"Awww. . A Good Ole Boy like me couldn't have got this here business." he drawled.

"I done got myself a secret weapon that got me this here business."

Secret weapon??

I asked Slim if Ginny Kubler had come up with some new and powerful Vista film??

"Nahhh. . just wait here I'll show you how I did it."

He yelled out a name and in a few seconds I detected a sweet aroma; like a basket of Gardenias wafting in the air and filling the room.

Suddenly a beautiful woman floated into the showroom.  She looked like a cross between Jane Seymore and Amy Irving. .

She introduced herself with a crisp British accent. .

I almost said "Enchanted!"

Slim dismissed her with a wave of his hand saying "head on back there and we'll catch up with you in a second; sweetheart!"

He leaned over and said:

"Now there's my secret weapon!"

"Them boys at that building could hardly help themselves.  Why one of them big shots 'bout asked her to marry him!"

I did get him to sign on board to become a 3M Dealer. It didn't last very long. He tried the logo out for a short run but it couldn't stick!

I checked his company website the other day and it's still VISTA. It seems my dealer friend has passed away; since his memorial is mentioned.

The story about the Southern Belle always comes to mind when people discuss what it takes to be successful in commercial window film sales?

Is it: Hard work, persistence, determination, that can-do attitude??

How about a Southern Beauty with a faux Brit accent!
