USA Window Film Grows Up With NFRC

Window Film has crawled a very long way since the early days of dyed tinting and outrageous performance claims.

The National Fenestration Ratings Council has created a vehicle for documenting the performance of window films.  The energy efficiency of specific window types are compared initially without glazing film and then with the applied film.

The improvement with the subsequent application is measured by the solar energy rejected and the shading coefficient. Many utility companies are offering window film rebates based specifically on the certified shading coefficient of these films.

This recent article in Window Film Magazine provides a brief history of the evolution in this process.

Window Film USA
fully supports NFRC process.

The majority of the window film manufacturers that we represent have gone through the NFRC ratings process or are in queue (SunTek) to receive these ratings.

This portfolio includes the following outstanding window film selections:

Our competition 3M Window Films has also certified many of their films (their recent ceramic film entry has not been certified)  The NFRC therefore provides the level playing field that the industry had been lacking.

CREDIBILITY:

Consumer education and awareness has been the missing key ingredient.

Window Film USA prefers fact over hype.  This can frequently become an issue if a misinformed 3M competitor or an Asian IR Film manufacturer makes claims about IR rejection of 97%-99%,  or pretends they invented a special test to demonstrate superior film performance at angles.

The IR rejection issue  has become an extremely misleading marketing tactic that we have previously addressed in this blog!

The Industry organization, the IWFA has been leading this process.  The natural evolution will be to migrate toward Energy Star Ratings now that there are multiple consumer choices.

Window Film USA provides solutions to faded furnishings, glare control and UV rejection.

Our NFRC Certified films reduce your electric bill in the warmer months and provide security as well as glass safety throughout the year.

There has really never been a better time to invest in these solutions
