After four plus years of running my own company in the fascinating world of Tampa Window Tinting it may be somewhat premature in declaring victory over our competition, but seriously; we are getting darn close!
The challenge for Advanced Film Solutions and Window Film USA is to consistently execute a superior business plan providing clients with the very best value proposition in window film!
- Given my background and industry expertise we obtained superior performing window films like VISTA, LLumar and the German Ceramic Film Huper Optik.
Advanced Film Solutions created a winning foundation and competitive advantage leveraging our superior solutions versus the perception of 3M window film superiority.

It starts with facts.
Today's consumers aren't fooled with fluff.
There is a justifiable cynicism directed toward corporate hype in all industries. The bottom line is that educated consumers will take their time, do their homework and compare choices to select the superior value solution.
- Our VISTA and LLumar combination provides our clients an unmatched selection of choices. Our VISTA dual reflective films are comparatively inexpensive and offer sustained views particularly during the evening hours.

- Our Huper Optik ceramic films gave Advanced Film Solutions a quantifiable advantage over the 3M Prestige Film series.
- Huper Optik has superior optical clarity and they manufacture these films without any dyes. In countless homes we have installed side by side comparisons and have never lost the "See It With Your Own Eyes Test."
- 3M recognized that they needed a ceramic film so they re-boxed another companies film. This private label film has higher reflectivity than our patented Huper Optik. They are charging the same or higher for less heat rejection and they are limited to a narrow 5 foot width.
- We win with objective wind storm testing advantages. We strengthened our competitive position by adding Armorcoat, Lumenesse, Madico and SunTek and Hanita to our solutions "bag."
This means we compete daily with 3M dealers who charge more for solutions that are less effective in holding glass in place.
If you are a consumer weighing that choice, why would you select the less effective and unjustified higher expense solution?
- Advanced Film Solutions placed focus on energy conserving window films for Green Minded consumers. That's why we have exhibited at the Tampa Living Green Expo for five straight years. The recent introduction of the outstanding EnerLogic Series of Low E Films has distanced VISTA from the pack!
- Advanced Film Solutions expanded operations into Bradenton and Sarasota. We expanded into the Orlando area and north to The Villages. We broadened our coverage with our sister company Window Film USA.
- Later we added Suntek in to our mix since they created several low cost alternatives that have met that same ASTM standard.
This fact was not overlooked by 3M. In that respect we made similar decisions incorporating SunTek films into our portfolio. The key difference is we identify our approach. They quietly "private label" these SunTek films.
- The Vista brand has a powerful advantage because savvy consumers can readily decide between objective performance superiority versus the perception that 3M is better.
The NFRC ratings have been a boon to consumer confidence in our recommendations.
- NFRC ratings separate fact from baloney which is particularly critical when we compete against their prestige series.
Consumers should be circumspect when presented with claims about films working better at angles or inaccurate hyperbole about 97% IR rejection. These inaccurate statements are frequently supported by bogus BTU Heat Lamp demos that give the false impression that their film is factoring out nearly all the heat coming through that glass.
This trick, this illusion of performance can con a consumer into believing they are investing in a magical solution.
- How about that 3M Home Depot program run by the 3M Orlando Window Film dealer? Their mark-ups are huge because everyone participating in this "deal" gets their cut.
The suggestion that consumers will pay usury prices simply to use their home depot credit card is preposterous.
