Our client had done their homework.
Quotes from a local 3M Dealer who was promoting their prestige 50 film and a Solar Gard dealer who was promoting the Armorcoat 50 Stainless Film.
They had heard that Huper Optik was the better choice from several of their neighbors and we received the call to counter the previous proposers.
Certainly the Armorcoat 50 8 ML film is as strong as the Huper film when it comes to security and shatter resistance.
Both of these 8 ML films are stronger than the 3M 5 ml film we compete against. The Armorcoat film however is reflective which is a violation of the deed restriction. Further, while that film is an excellent economical choice; the total solar energy rejected is average to poor.
We offer Armorcoat and explained the differences!
Then we took on our 3M friends yet again.
I explained that despite their DRAMATIC demo showing the rippy rippy advantage; this has no bearing upon the ability of their film to meet cycling and impact tests. It's a feature without a benefit.
Their film is optically hazy and shifts the light to the blue.
Their film has a limited hard coat and the color is created with a dyed layer.
Their pricing?
Outrageous given the cost of the film to the dealer (I would know!)
Huper Optik won the day and we installed the 500 sq. ft yesterday.
