Overly Connected How Social Networking Is Driving Some People Nuts
I used to think of myself as technologically advanced. I had a web page back in 1997 hyping my 3M Window Film well before 3M designed their own website.
You might say that I have adapted to blogging and various social networking sites like Facebook, Twitter and Linkedin.
But. . .
I still carry a basic cell phone and prefer talking directly with people rather than texting.
I've know all about the fancy new phones that can do everything and have resisted taking that plunge.
I traveled to SEMA in Vegas this week.
From the moment I reached the waiting area at TIA, I watched travelers with their Droids and I-Phones typing ferociously.

My window film compatriots sat throughout breakfast looking down at their devices, thumbs typing away throughout the meal.
They took photo's and videos immediately uploading to Facebook and Twitter.

I joked about their passion (obsession?) for their devices and received a lecture on all the wonderful things I could be doing with this handy dandy tool.
I think I can wait until 5:00 PM to read my e-mails.
I can always check Twitter later and Facebook when I get up tomorrow.

Now I know that I've been correct in hesitating.

I simply ate my breakfast.
