Gaining Clarity On Window Tinting-Trick Or Treat

The fact is that the best window film solutions in this industry are a complete mystery to you; but eyes light up when I explain that Solutia was Monsanto.

When you learn that Solutia as a multi-billion dollar world leader in window film sales, market share and technology it somehow makes your decision easier to support.

That's human nature.  The power of branding.

That's ironic given my history.

It begins with what I did from 1974 to 2007.

While you were busy doing something; I was busy doing one thing: representing 3M.

Now we compete.

This Saturday a client described the demo he watched at a local car tint shop. He described the fella in a 3M shirt proving his car tinting blocked 97%  of the heat.

That 3M dealer told him this magical concoction works better at blocking heat in the afternoon when the Sun is at an angle!

I had to pause a moment before explaining to him what he really saw.

You wouldn't think that I'd have to do this; but the trick is really pretty good.

(Think Cris Angel or David Copperfield, and Penn and Teller.)

This trick is so epic the trickster might actually believe his own nonsense. Kind of like that John Edwards guy who talks to the dead?

My client shook his head and told me that 3M wanted $500 to tint his 4 door car.

He explained that despite the miracle heat control he saw, he simply couldn't afford the ticket price!  "If 3M say's they have a miracle film; you gotta believe it!"

I thought about taking out my own BTU meter and that phony heat lamp to demonstrate how the trick works; one of my own 3M souvenirs.

The thought passed quickly.

I'm not truly competing with a superior film made by my 3M alma mater.

I'm battling illusion, make believe and foolishness.

That magical film at best blocks slightly over 60% of the heat.

A 3M shirt, a phony demo, a $500 price-tag for a medium effective film or. .

NFRC rated and documented performance, clear adhesives, superior hard coats, transferable no fault warranties and facts.
