How It Works:
Standard window films are typically 1 or 2 ml thick. One of our competitors, 3M still touts a thinner 4 and 5 ml film that offers far less puncture strength than Advanced Film Solutions 8 ML and thicker portfolio.
Shatter control window films should be at minimum 8 ML thick. The adhesive systems are aggressive. The film holds the glass in place making it very difficult for an intruder to enter through the window.
Is it a perfect system?
Given enough time and opportunity a motivated thief can break through the window. Sliders are reinforced with a wet sealant that hold the glass into your frames.
